MOOSE  STATE BOWLING TOURNAMENT

First we would like to say thanks and congratulations to all of our members that bowled in the tournament. We want to especially say CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM OF REX TIERNEY,  RICK KIRTLEY, TOM KIRTLEY, DONNIE SCHECK AND SHANE SMITH. This team bowled the first squad of the 3 week tournament and held their lead to win FIRST PLACE! All were presented with a Moose Jacket as their trophies. Text Box: From The Governor: Summer is in full swing now, The Summer Kick Off party in the pavilion was a success and fun was had by all who participated. The next two upcoming events this summer are the Corn Roast on Sunday August 8, 2010 and the 3rd Annual Pig Roast on Saturday September 25, 2010. The Corn Roast is free to all members and their immediate families (children under 21 years old) no guest’s allowed. Every Moose Member has been mailed 2 books of tickets for the drawing at the Corn Roast. I would like to encourage the selling of these tickets to your friends , relatives and co-workers. WINNER NEED NOT BE PRESENT—Tickets are only a dollar a piece or 6 for $5. The Pig Roast is $20 a ticket and it is an open event. Your ticket includes your pig and all the side dishes, draft beer and pop. Your ticket will be placed in a raffle for $500 first prize or 5 $100 prizes. You are encouraged to bring as many friends, relatives, and co-workers as possible (Adults Only). Please give us your support for both the Corn Roast and the Pig Roast. These are our annual fund raisers that enable us to do things around the lodge like pay taxes and replace a/c units on the roof. Each and everyone of us know that these are important. Don’t forget we always need volunteers for these events to be successful! Also, thanks to everyone involved with the Memorial Service—it was a very nice service that was really appreciated by the families of our departed members. **Special thanks to Troy Austin for once again putting together a stellar graduation ceremony for our members graduating children. **To our scholarship recipients—I would like to congratulate you on behalf of our Lodge and wish you all continued success in all of your future endeavors. Bring the family to the Moose  Lodge Pavilion for a picnic full of fun! Dance to music! Play some horse shoes, corn hole, volley ball. There is also a playground and basket ball court for the kids.  Food and drinks at a very reasonable price and of course FREE CORN!  Admission is free for members and their immediate family. Text Box: From Your Senior Regent, I would like to take this moment to thank all of the ladies that voted.. It will be a privilege to work with all of you in this upcoming year. I encourage all of our new chapter co-workers to come to the meetings and get an understanding of exactly who and what we are all about. I would like to personally thank all of the ladies that stepped up and volunteered for Chairmen positions. The monthly Chairmen are so very important for us to be able to give to Mooseheart and Moosehaven. The Memorial service was very touching for me after the loss of my mother this January. I understand the wanting to come together with others in love and fellowship. Troy did a fantastic job with the graduation ceremony. Congratulations to all of our graduates. Your support (time and sweat) for the upcoming summer and fall events are very important to the success of our lodge this year. Please volunteer, volunteer, volunteer! We will be needing you for the Corn Roast and the Pig Roast this summer. Also, we will need you again for the children’s Halloween party in October. An auxiliary's job is never done! I would like to congratulate Marilyn Dickel on receiving her cap and gown. She was one of among over 500 women who were presented this honor.
